Haflinger

Haflinger horses

The Plateau of Avelengo gave its name to South Tyrol's very own horse breed, the patient and gentle "Haflinger".

You simply cannot imagine the sourroundings of Avelengo without this dominant, strong and blond-mane horse breed.

There are many opportunities to get to know these wonderful animals: equestrian centres offer rides to explore the beautiful scenery. Beginners quickly feel confident on the broad backs of these placid animals.

Various riding stables in the village of Avelengo offer guided trail rides or pony riding tours.
