The nature park Gruppo di Tessa - Texelgruppe is the largest nature park of South Tyrol. It contains the Texel group mountain range, which is located between Senales valley and Passiria valley.
The park contains numerous habitats, from steppe-like grasses to shadowy forests and open moors.
Merano's Alta Via (the Merano High Mountain Trail) encompasses the reserve of the Tessa mountains and is one of the most beautiful paths of the Alps with its 94 km (58 miles) curling along an irregular landscape offering marvellous views of mountain peaks more than three thousand metres high and peaceful places for a rest.
It is an extraordinary "several day walking tour" through the Tessa Group Nature Park.
Nature park Gruppo di Tessa - Texelgruppe visitor information center is located in Naturno. The facility's motto, Water and Light, reflects the diversity and interdependence of the park's habitats.
